James Henry Bunch

James Henry “Jimmy” Bunch, age 86, of Asheboro passed away on December 26, 2023 at Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury.

Mr. Bunch was born in Greenville, NC on September 13, 1937.  James served his country in the U.S. Navy.  He retired from Dixie Furniture and was formerly employed with Southern Pride Auto Sales. James was preceded in death by his parents, Author and Ruby Lee Bunch and his brothers, Ray Bunch and James Allen Bunch.  James enjoyed woodworking, making bird houses, and collecting trinkets.  He was an avid bowler.  James loved his family very much, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his sons, Thomas Bunch (Shannon) of Asheboro and Terry York of Statesville; stepdaughter, Norma Jones (Lew) of Asheboro; stepson, James Payne of Asheboro; grandchildren, J.T. Bunch (Kaitlyn), Donna Bunch, Stefan Jones (Ashley), and Derrick York; sisters, Loriea Jimenez (Chico) and Marie Mitchell (John); brothers, David Bunch (Gail) and Richard Bunch (Tonya); and faithful canine companion, Girl.
