James David Bruton

James David Bruton, age 63, of 219 Chip Road, Mt. Gilead died Monday, January 23, 2012 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst. James was born May 3, 1948 at Troy, NC, the son of David and Marie Greene Bruton. He was an active member of Parsons Grove United Methodist Church. He was a correctional officer with the NC Dept. of Corrections and a former employee of Myrick Construction. James was a retired US Navy veteran with 21 years of service. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife: Geniva Blake Bruton of the home; one daughter: Tammie B. Parsons of Candor; one son, Ricky L. Bruton of Mt. Gilead; two sisters: Sarah McRae and husband, Murphy of TopSail Island, Susan B. Cray of Candor; one brother: Jesse Bruton and wife, Libby of Candor; grandchildren: Katie, Carson, Hannah, Bryer, Nickolas and Allison. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 25, 2012 from 1 pm until 1:45 pm at Parsons Grove United Methodist Church, 3431 Pekin Road, Candor. The funeral will be at 2:00 pm with Rev. William Saunders officiating. Burial with military rites provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard, will be in the Bruton Family Cemetery, Candor.
