RANDLEMAN - James Wilbur "Bo" Allen, age 75, of Randleman died Monday, August 8, 2016 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.
Bo was born September 17, 1940 the son of Sterling Wilbur and Helen Walden Allen.
Bo was a native of Randolph County and a US Army Veteran. He liked to play golf and to fish. He was instrumental in helping to establish the Level Cross Volunteer Fire Department in the early 1970's. He spent most of his life in Randolph County except for the years he worked as President for the European Bakery, a division of Flowers Bakery, in Tucker, GA. He was a member of St. Peter United Methodist Church. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his siblings: sister: Mimi Allen of Randleman, NC; sister and her husband: Margine and Jimmy Garner of Randleman, NC; brother and his wife: Jerry and Eldora Allen of Randleman, NC; brother and his wife: John Kelly and Susan Allen of Randleman, NC; brother and his wife: Anthony "Andy" and Janet Allen of Randleman, NC; and his special K-9 Companions, Simon and Bryson
James will lay in state Sunday, August 14, 2016 from 2:00 - 2:30, the family will receive friends from 2:30-3:00 p.m. at St. Peter United Methodist Church, 8705 U.S. 220 Bus. N. Randleman, NC. The funeral service will be Sunday at 3:00 PM at St. Peter United Methodist Church, with Rev. Behekelwa Imatha officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
