Isla Auman Vuncannon

Isla Auman Vuncannon, age 81, of 1518 McDaniel Road, Asheboro died Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at her home. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 8, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Hopewell Friends Meeting Cemetery. Mrs. Vuncannon was a native of Randolph County and a graduate of Seagrove High School. She was retired from Pinehurst Textiles and was a former hostess at Bamboo Gardens. Mrs. Vuncannon was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ross Vuncannon. She is survived by her son, Terry Vuncannon and his wife Phyllis of Asheboro; step-granddaughter, Kim Peick of Dacula, GA; step great grandchildren, Brandi, Jenny and Justin; sisters, Nancy Wilson of Lake Tillery, Barbara Delk and her husband Adrian of Lake Lure; brothers, Charles Auman and his wife Rose of Asheboro, Dalton Auman and his wife Mary Joyce of Asheboro, Grayson Auman and his wife Lettie of Asheboro; sisters-in-law, Jean V. Dodd of Atlanta, GA, and Sue V. Duggins of Asheboro. The family will receive friends Friday, April 8, 2011 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro and following the service at the home of Terry Vuncannon, 3151 Old NC Hwy 49, Asheboro.
