Irving Charles Carter, age 90, of 400 Vision Dr., Asheboro died Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Woodland Hill Care & Rehabilitation, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Tim Pheagin officiating. Burial with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Mr. Carter was a native of Scotland County, an Army veteran of WWII and was retired with 38 years of service from Burlington Industries in Asheboro. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Kern Carter and 10 brothers and sisters. He is survived by sons, Richard Carter and his wife Betty of Greensboro, Rev. Edward Carter and his wife Dianne of Ramseur; grandsons, Mark Carter of Greensboro, Scott Carter and his wife Jenifer of Greensboro; great granddaughter, Ashley Carter of Greensboro; sister-in-law, Libby Carter of Asheboro. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 7, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204-0009 or charity of donor's choice. The family wishes to thank the staff of Woodland Hill Care and Rehab and Hospice of Randolph for the love and care extended to their father and his family.
