Iris Barnes Stockner

Iris Barnes Stockner, age 93, of Asheboro died Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 6, 2014 from 11:30 AM-12:30 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. A graveside service will follow on Monday at 1:00 PM at Randolph Memorial Park, 4538 US Hwy 220 Bus. North, Asheboro with Rev. J. Arnold Luther officiating. Mrs. Stockner was born in High Point, NC on July 23, 1921 to Earnest and Sarah Frazier Barnes. She retired, after 20 years, as an LPN. Iris and her husband Wilson were founding members of Central Wesleyan Church. In addition to her parents, Iris was preceded in death by her husband Wilson Stockner, son Richard Wilson Stockner, sisters Cleo Bost and Irene Poe, and brothers Arnold, Clayton, and Leo Barnes. Iris was a generous, loving, and giving lady and a devoted Christian. She is survived by her grandsons, Scott Stockner and wife Robin of Asheboro, Todd Stockner and wife Melonia of West Palm Beach, FL; great grandchildren, Kristin Stockner, Megan Stockner, Kadie Stockner, and Elijah Stockner all of Asheboro and Jordan Johnson of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
