Iris Gardner

Iris Hill Gardner, age 82, of Asheboro died Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 12:30-1:30 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at the home of Brenda and Doug Marshall. A graveside service will follow on Saturday at 2:00 PM at New Hope Memorial Gardens, 3448 New Hope Church Road, Asheboro with Rev. Benjamin T. Chavis officiating. Mrs. Gardner was born in Randolph County on September 23, 1930 to Jesse and Grace Henderson Hill. She was retired from Mr. Jeans and in addition to her parents, Iris was preceded in death by her husband Charles Hoyle Gardner and her sister Thelma Trogdon. Iris was a loving, gentle, and kind mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and enjoyed cooking for her family. She is survived by her daughters, Gwen Millikan and her husband Mike of Ramseur, NC, Brenda Marshall and her husband Doug of Asheboro, NC; granddaughter, Amy Elizabeth Vestal and her husband Mike; great grandsons, Andrew Jeremiah Vestal and Cameron Vestal; and special companion, her cat Blueboy.
