Irene Rush

Myrtle Irene Rush, age 83, of 533 Luck Rd., Asheboro died Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Rabon officiating. Entombment will follow in Randolph Memorial Park. Miss Rush was born in Asheboro on August 23, 1928 to Wiley and Maude Vuncannon Rush. She was retired from Eveready Battery after 30 years of service and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her brothers John and Dock Rush and her sisters Ivamae Potts and Margie Redding. She is survived by her sister, Bertha Maness Cooper of Asheboro, NC; her beloved cat, Smokey; great niece, Tammy Nelson of Medina, OH; sisters-in-law, Edith Rush and Levena "Pete" Norris and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday, June 22, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
