Irene Lanier Pittillo

Irene Lanier Pittillo, age 83, formerly of Morgan Ave., Asheboro, died Sunday, September 25, 2011 at Abbotts Creek Care And Rehabilitation, Lexington. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 5:30 pm at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bruce Dickerson and Rev. Adrian Pugh officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Ms. Pittillo was a native of the New Hope Community in Randolph County and was retired from Union Carbide Corporation. She was a member of Fayetteville Street Baptist Church and loved her family and church family. Ms. Pittillo was preceded in death by her mother, Lala Frye Lanier whom she missed dearly and her brothers, George Donald Lanier and Roy Clite Lanier. She is survived by her son, William Lee Hurley of Denton, 5 grandchildren who includes, Beth Bunting of Denton, Greg Hurley of Camden; 9 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister, Jeraldeane Harvell of Troy; Colene Hardister of New Hope Community. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 28, 2011 from 4:00-5:30 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
