Irene Rush Combs

Emily Irene Rush Combs, age 81, of 229 Waymon St., Seagrove died Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Seagrove Christian Church with Rev. L. D. Pritchard officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Combs was born in Moore County, grew up in Asheboro and was a graduate of Asheboro High School. She was retired from the Seagrove School cafeteria after 17 years of service, was a very active member of Seagrove Christian Church and a charter member of the Seagrove Christian Womens Fellowship. She was preceded in death by her parents, George M. and Lena Monroe Rush and her brothers, Charles B. Rush and Edward Rush. Irene enjoyed crafts and cooking. She is survived by her husband, James M. Combs, Sr.; son, James M. Combs, Jr. of Seagrove, NC; daughter, Emily Kirkland and her husband Thomas of Mooresville, NC; grandchildren, Taylor, Ryan and Martha Kirkland; sisters, Isabelle Barnes and her husband Robert of Asheboro, NC; and Frances Combs and her husband Rex of Seagrove, NC; sister-in-law, Marjorie Rush of Asheboro, NC; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 28, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro. Memorials may be made to Hospice Of Randolph, P.O.
