Ira Edmond Nance

Ira Edmond Nance, age 79, of Asheboro died Friday, May 8, 2015 at Woodland Hill Care & Rehabilitation in Asheboro. Mr. Nance was born July 2, 1935 in Asheboro the son of Everette and Chloie Callicott Nance. Mr. Nance was a native of Randolph County, Graduate of Farmer High School in 1953 and attended Guilford College in Greensboro. He was a member of Hopewell Friends Meeting of Asheboro where he served on the finance committee and was a retired restaurant manager formerly employed with Pinewood Country Club in Asheboro. In addition to his parents Ira is preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Stout, brothers, Dempsy and Truman Nance. He is survived by Brothers: Everett A. Nance, Jr. and Clinton C. Nance both of Asheboro; sisters-in-law: Martha B. Nance and Rebecca J. Boger both of Asheboro; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 11, 2015 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Hopewell Friends Meeting, 2244 Hopewell Friends Road, Asheboro, NC 27205. A memorial service will immediately follow with Rev. Daniel Thames officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date. The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Hopewell Friends Meeting/Memorial Fund, 2244 Hopewell Friends Meeting, Asheboro, NC 27205.
