Iola Mae Yates

Iola Mae Tolbert Yates, age 92, of Mountain Vista Health Park, Denton, died Monday, November 24, 2008 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro.A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at 2:00 PM in the Pleasant Union Community Church Cemetery, 2635 Pleasant Union Rd., Denton with Rev. James Cooper officiating.Mrs. Yates was a native of Randolph County, was retired from Acme-McCrary Corporation after 30 years of service, and was a member of Mt. Shepherd United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Yates, her sons, Bobby, Jimmy and Ralph Harold Yates and her daughter, Virginia Luther. Iola was a very caring mother and cared for her son Jimmy during his illness of eight years. She loved cooking, gardening, and crocheting afghans to give away to others. She always loved doing something for someone else. She is survived by her daughters, Iris Lassiter of Asheboro, NC; Pam McCoy and her husband William of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Zack McCoy of Spartanburg, SC, Kim Everhart of Trinity, NC and Lakita Adams of Asheboro, NC; sister, Gladys Jarrell of Asheboro, NC and daughter-in-law, Janet Yates of Asheboro, NC.Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O.
