Asheboro

Ioannis (John) Emmanuel Antoniou, age 86, passed away August 30, 2024 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. The family will have a private service later this week at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in High Point.

John was born December 24, 1937 to the late Maria and Emmanuel Antoniou of Kontakeika, Samos Greece. He was a chemist and stylist and manufactured his own line of hair care products that he sold in his salons and hair salons across North Carolina. He dedicated his life to helping others, and was awarded the Archangel Michael award from the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America for being a living example of Orthodox Christian life. He always had a joke and a piece of candy at the ready for anyone in his vicinity. His kindness and sense of humor will be missed.

John Antoniou was preceded in death by his wife Thomais and his brother Dimitrios Antoniou(Barb).

He is survived by his sister Stamatia Margaroni and his only son Emmanuel Antoniou (Dana). He leaves behind four grandchildren who were always in his heart, and nieces and nephews in America, Canada, and Greece.

May his memory be eternal.
