Ina Elizabeth Andrews, a life long resident of Asheboro, North Carolina died June 23, 2010 at the age of 95. She was the daughter of the late Nathan Spencer Andrews and Lillian Walker Andrews. Ina graduated from Asheboro High School and attended Greensboro College. She received her degree from King's Business College. She was executive secretary to Mr. D. B. McCrary and Mr. Charles McCrary at Acme McCrary Hosiery Corporation for over fifty years. Ina was a member of First United Methodist Church in Asheboro. For over fifty years she was a Sunday School teacher and a member of the Chancel Choir. She enjoyed working with the committee on the history of the church. She loved First United Methodist Church and was active as long as her health permitted. Ina was also involved with the Library Guild and was a volunteer in the office of Hospice of Randolph County. Ina was preceded in death by her sisters, Lena Bortner Maus of Greensboro and Mary Andrews Swink of Charlotte and her brother, Joseph Colon Andrews of Greensboro .She is survived by a nephew, Numa S. Andrews of Morehead City, NC and nieces Anna Smith of Greensboro, NC, Anne Bortner Burkhead of Fort Mill, South Carolina and Sandra Swink Bobbitt of Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends Friday, June 25, 2010 from 10:00-11:00 am at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Asheboro on Friday, June 25, 2010 at 1:30 pm. with the family receiving friends in the church parlor following the service. Ina's family would like to express appreciation to North Pointe Assisted Living for their excellent care and concern and to Hospice of Randolph County. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that a donation is sent to First United Methodist Church in memory of Ina.
