Ima Jean Rayle

Ima Jean Harris Rayle, age 84, of Pleasant Garden died peacefully at Clapps Assisted Living, Thursday, August 30, 2018 where she had lived for 8 1/2 years with advanced Alzheimer's.

Mrs. Rayle was born August 1, 1934 in Belhaven, NC, the daughter of James and Theda Harris.She was a graduate of Sumner School in Greensboro. Jean worked at Sears for 12 years as a buyers assistant. However, her true passion was raising her four children and spending time with her grandchildren. Her family always meant everything to her. She was also very athletic, if her kids were out playing in the snow she would be right there with them sledding down the hill. Jean also loved being outdoors, even hunting turkey and deer, loved traveling to the mountains and Badin Lake snow and water skiing and loved gardening. She was a member at Grace Baptist Church, which she was involved in helping build the church in the 80's. In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by her son, Thomas "Guy" Rayle and brother, J.D Harris.

Jean leaves behind a loving family that includes her devoted and loving husband of 63 years, Billy Rayle of the home; daughters: Donna Hicks of Greensboro, and Dana Sheaff and husband Doug of Greensboro; son: John Rayle of Burlington; 5 grandchildren; sister: Evelyn Madison of Shallotte.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 31, 2018 from 6 to 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 11:00 am at Grace Baptist Church, 435 NC Hwy 62W, Randleman with Rev. Marvin Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.

The family would like to thank everyone at Clapp's Assisted Living in Pleasant Garden for their wonderful care they gave her during her last years.
