Ida Elizabeth Cornelison Cole, age 97, of Asheboro died Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Hinkle Hospice House, Lexington. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Center Cross Baptist Church with Rev. Justus McKeel, Rev. Scott Kidd and Dr. Robert Shackleford, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Cole was born and raised in Montgomery County and graduated from Star High School. She was a resident of Asheboro for 75 years and a long time member of Center Cross Baptist Church. She loved sewing and gardening and was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Ervin John Cole, as well as her brothers and sisters, Nora C. Jordan, Earl Cornelison, Irene Cornelison, Walser Cornelison, Clyde Cornelison, Blaine Cornelison, Lillie Cornelison, and Theodore Cornelison. She is survived by her son, Milton Cole and his wife, Patricia of Rocky Mount; daughter, Wanda Brown and her husband Wade of Asheboro; grandchildren, Rick Cole and his wife Michelle of Aiken, SC, Sherry Craig and her husband Gerald of Huntersville, Donna Hill and her husband Eric of Asheboro, Katina Jakubowski and her husband Matt of Charlotte; great grandchildren, Brad Craig of Aiken, SC, Sarah Craig of Greensboro, Ryan and Ross Hill of Asheboro, Kendall and Nevin Jakubowski of Charlotte; sister-in-law, Maie Cornelison and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 3, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC Memorials may be made to Center Cross Baptist Church, 1789 Center Cross Church Rd., Asheboro, NC 27205.
