Hoy Poole, age 80, of 124 Poole Lane, Troy died Friday, August 17, 2012 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
Mr. Poole was born December 30, 1931 at Montgomery County, NC the son of Earl Stanley and Pearl Jordan Poole. Hoy was a farmer and a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the United Church of God. He is preceded in death by his parents, granddaughters, "Laura" Keigh Kerney, Linda Marie Poole and siblings, Bruce Poole, Wayne Poole, Mary Poole, Easter Poole, Rose Poole Bowman and Elon Poole.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years: Peggy Elam Poole of the home; one daughter: Pearl Poole Wallace and husband, Jim of Rockingham; two sons: Hoy Scott Poole and wife, Judy of Wilmington, John Stanley Poole and wife, Deana of Troy; two grandchildren: Jonathan and Jessica Poole.
The public may come by Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 Main St., Troy, Saturday, August 18, 2012 from 3 pm - 6 pm to pay their respect; however, the family will receive friends at the home. A graveside service, with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard, will be Saturday at 7 pm at Laurel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 1569 Troy-Candor Rd., Candor with Rev. David Mills and Rev. Wayne Vuncannon officiating.
