Homer Ray Garner

Homer Ray Garner, age 82, of Asheboro passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019 at Randolph Health.

Mr. Garner was born in Randleman, NC on October 14, 1936 to Elmer and Annie Shoffner Garner. Homer served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was retired from Eveready Battery and was a member of Russell's Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Homer was preceded in death by his wife, Saundra Brown Garner. Homer loved music and enjoyed playing his guitar. He loved traveling in his camper.

He is survived by his son, Chris R. Garner (Lisa) of Asheboro; daughter, Terri Garner of Asheboro; grandchildren, Josh Garner of Asheboro, Ashley Garner of Asheville, Brad Morton (Andrea) of Kissimmee, FL; great granddaughter, Cordelia Chesson of Asheville; and brother, Darrell Garner of Holden Beach.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 11, 2019 at 4:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro with Rev. Tim Fonner officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
