Hilda Register Draughn, age 84, of Asheboro died Thursday, December 11, 2014 at her home.
Mrs. Draughn was born in Asheboro on February 9, 1930 to Joseph and Myrtle Green Register. She was retired from Dan Thomas Auto after 20 years of service. Hilda formerly attended West Chapel United Methodist Church. Hilda loved her pets and was always quick and willing to take in neighborhood pets. She loved to travel and work jigsaw puzzles. Hilda loved spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren and enjoyed being at home with her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Wanda Simpson and husband Marion, Donna Davis and husband Timothy and son, Jimmy Draughn and wife Cindy all of Asheboro; grandchildren, Leslie Hockett, Steven Draughn both of Asheboro, Bradley Simpson of Tampa, FL, Brent Simpson, Taylor Davis, and Kailee Davis all of Asheboro; great grandchildren, Dylan Boydston, Mark Boydston, and Ashland Boydston all of Asheboro; and sister, Juanita McDowell of Asheboro.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 14, 2014 from 1:00-2:30 p.m. at First Wesleyan Church, 125 Tabernacle St., Randleman, NC. A memorial service will follow on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at First Wesleyan Church with Rev. Mark Wilburn and Rev. Don Hurlburt officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Asheboro.
