Hilda Evangeline "Vann" McCorquodale Bulla passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015 at the Randolph Hospice House.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Neill A. McCorquodale and Verdie Neighbors McCorquodale; husband, Marvin W. Hyde; sisters Shirley (Col. James) Lyle; Jean (Judge Eugene) Goslee; Juanita (Edward) Wallace; and Annette Williams.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Asheboro, but attended Neighbors Grove Wesleyan Church.
She served her country as a Sergeant during World War II in the Army with the 1114 SCU at Camp Edwards, Massachusetts.
She worked with Dr. Joseph R. Suggs for many years. Before retirement she was Randolph County's Veterans Service Officer.
She is survived by her husband, R. Frank Bulla; son, Neill M. (Melinda) Hyde; two step-daughters, Patsy (Bill) Barker; Marlene Morris; grandsons, Michael, Taylor (Rachel), and Emery (Katy) Barker; two great-grandchildren, Makala and Cameron Barker; one brother-in-law, Buie Williams; niece, Sue (Thomas) Saunders; nephews, Jimmy Williams; and Johnny (Melissa) Williams.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 11:00-11:45 am at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday at 12:00 noon at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wyatt Hoogkamp officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
