Herman Ray Cranford

Herman Ray Cranford, age 76, of 432 Summit Ave, Asheboro died Sunday, July 12, 2009 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro.A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel.Mr. Cranford was a native of Randolph County and a member of Liberty Fellowship Methodist Church in Denton. He was retired form Bossong Hosiery and later retired from NC Zoo after 14 years of service. Mr. Cranford was preceded in death by his parents, Ratio and Eva Hopkins Cranford, his brother, James Cranford, and sisters-in-law, Peggy Yates Cranford and Evelyn Hinkle Cranford. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Cranford; daughter, Glenda Cranford Freeman and her husband Mike of Asheboro; son, Douglas Cranford and his wife Vicki of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Katie Freeman of Asheboro, Garrett Cranford of Dallas, TX; sisters, Helen Andrews and her husband Gene of Asheboro, Linda Craven and her husband Darrel of Seagrove; brothers, Clyde Cranford and his wife Mary of High Point, Billy Cranford of Denton, Dale Cranford of Asheboro, Roy Cranford and his wife Judy of Denton; sister-in-law, Geraldine Cranford of Asheboro; and several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 15, 2009 immediately following the memorial service at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.Memorials may be made to the Liberty Fellowship Methodist Church, 8121 New Hope Rd., Denton, NC 27239 or the NC Zoological Society, 4403 Zoo Parkway, Asheboro, NC 27205.
