Herman H. Bolton, age 92, of, Asheboro died Friday; December 5, 2014 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.
Mr. Bolton was born February 6, 1922 in High Point, NC. The son of the late James Julius and Bertha Rose (Bodenhamer) Bolton. He was pre-ceded in death by his great grandson Carter Whitson. He was a graduate of Farmer School and attended University of California at Berkley. Herman served his country as a World War ll veteran in the Air Force with the 421 st Bomber Squadron, 504 th Group. He also served in the Randolph County Honor Guard in his later Years.
Mr. Bolton worked as an electrician as Co-Owner of Electrical Contractor's Inc. business in Asheboro beginning in 1955. He was a member of Oakhurst Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday School Teacher and a choir member. Herman was an avid reader and loved to write as well. He enjoyed gardening, as well as fishing and had a deep appreciation for nature.
He is survived by his wife: Nellie Craver Bolton; 3 daughters: Beverly Whitson; Pat Hargett; and Melinda Bolton all of Asheboro. 1 Step-son; Brian Adams and wife Danielle of Jamestown, NC. 3 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday, December 8, 2014 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will begin at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel, with Rev. Richard Crider officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
