Herbert Grant Harris, Sr.

Herbert Grant Harris, Sr. age 80, of 213 Pine Lake Dr, Candor died Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Stanly Regional Medical Center, Albemarle. Herbert was born October 14, 1934 at Candor, NC the son of Elsie and Bessie Boyd Harris who precede him in death. He was a member of Parsons Grove United Methodist Church and a former construction employee. He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years: Sarah Parsons Harris of the home; one daughter: Gayla Harris Lankford of Troy, and one son: Herbert Grant Harris, II of Troy; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday, August 17, 2015 from 6 – 8 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy; other times at the home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:00 pm at Parsons Grove United Methodist Church, 3431 Pekin Rd., Candor with Pastor Vanesa McIntyre and Speaker John Sanchez officiating.
