Mr. Henry Eugene Morris, 83, of Asheboro passed away at Clapps Convalescent Nursing Home on Friday, December 29, 2017 and after a brave battle he went home to be with his Lord. Mr. Morris was born July 11, 1934 in Laurinburg, NC to the late Henry W. Morris and Delia B. Morris.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 5, 2017 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Independent Baptist Church, 1206 Oakland Avenue, Asheboro. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. immediately following visitation at Mt. Calvary with the Reverend Neil Poole and Reverend James Pendell officiating. Burial will be at Randolph Memorial Park with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Louvelia C. Morris, and son, Henry Eugene Morris, Jr.
He is survived by sons, William F. Morris and Michael Morris (Lisa), and stepchildren, Bridget Ferguson Gallimore (Ken), Gregory D. Ferguson (Donna), and Cynthia Ferguson Boroughs (Ashley), all of Asheboro. He is also survived by grandchildren, Chris Morris, Dewayne Morris, and Hanna Victoria Weiss of Asheboro, Erin Gallimore Hinson of Cary, Kevin Gallimore of Charlotte, Dana Ferguson Miller of West Jefferson, Kristi Ferguson Kennedy of Randleman, Chris Boroughs of Asheboro, Curt Boroughs of Pittsboro, Clay Boroughs and Cole Boroughs of Charlotte. He is survived by ten great grandchildren. He is also survived by the family pet and companion, Oreo.
He is survived by sister Daisy Morris Cameron (Tom) of Carthage, NC.; and three nieces and one nephew.
Henry served in the United States Army for 2 years. He began his working career at Acme McCrary, followed by 22+ years with the United States Postal Service and several years at Community One Bank. After retirement Henry enjoyed spending time with his family, playing golf, traveling, having fellowship with his church family and serving the Lord.
