Helen Julian Toomes, age 80,passed away to be with her Lord on September 12, 2008.
Mrs. Toomes was born March 28, 1928 the daughter of the late Carl Melvin and Kathleen Robbins Julian. She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Juanita West and Dolly York.
Mrs. Toomes graduated from Grays Chapel School in 1945 and worked at Worthville Cotton Mill. She married her husband T.A Toomes in 1955 and moved to Ormond Beach, Fl where she was a homemaker. They later moved back to her original home place in Randolph County in 1969 where Helen and her mother founded Country Manor Resthome.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years: T. A. Toomes; one son: Alvin Toomes of Asheboro; four daughters: Carolyn Deaton of Seagrove, Nita Palmer of Asheboro, Sarah Upchurch of Franklinville, and Krista Berger of Franklinville; one sister: Ruth Lane of Greensboro, and one brother: Tommy Julian of Franklinville. Grandchildren; Chris Deaton; Trisha Brown; Dale Wardlaw; Missy Burkhart; Barbie Toomes; Andy Hines; J.D. Upchurch; Ely Berger; Step Grandchild, Mark Brock; great grandchildren, Haley and Lindsi Brown; Dylan Wardlaw;, Maci and Cole Burkhart.
The family will receive friends Saturday, September 13, 2008 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC and from 1:00 - 1:45 PM Sunday prior to the funeral service.
The funeral service celebrating her life will be held Sunday, September 14, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 600 South Main Street, Randleman with Rev. Pete Bumgarner and Rev. Arnold Luther officiating. A private Burial will be held.
