Helen McNeill Little Pope, age 79, of Asheboro died Monday, July 11, 2016 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.
Mrs. Pope was born September 22, 1936 the daughter of Malcolm and Ila Phillips McNeill.
Mrs. Pope was a native of Randolph County and was a 1954 graduate of High Falls High School. She was formerly employed with First National Bank and retired from Wachovia Bank of Asheboro. She was a Pink Striper and Gray Lady with Randolph Hospital for several years. Mrs. Pope was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Malcolm and Ila Phillips McNeill, first husband, Donald Little, and stepmother, Mildred McNeill.
She is survived by her husband: Daniel Neil "Danny" Pope; son and his wife: Neil and Ashley Pope of Winston- Salem, NC; step son: Monte Pope of Asheboro, NC; sisters and their husbands: Vickie M. and Billy Everett of Apex, NC and Rachael M. and Bryant Womble of Siler City, NC; two brothers and their wives: Elmer R. and Roberta McNeill of Summerville, SC and Boyd E. and Becky McNeill of Siler City, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro and other times at the home of Danny's sister, Nancy King, 1160 Sheridan Drive, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 2:00 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, 7811 Pisgah Covered Bridge Rd., Asheboro with Rev. Joe Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
