Helen Cooper Kearns

Helen Cooper Kearns, age 81, of Asheboro died Monday, March 24, 2014 at Randolph Hospital. Ms. Kearns was born in Randolph County on May 9, 1932 to Charlie and Dora Hughes Cooper. She was retired from Brian Center. Helen was a member of New Union United Methodist Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her son Gregory Steven Kearns, brother Colvin C. Cooper, and sister Lola Mae Sykes. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Bulla of Asheboro; son, Anthony Kearns and his wife Karen of Asheboro; grandson, Matthew Kearns of Asheboro; and her beloved cat, Spook. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 2:00 pm at New Union United Methodist Church, 1293 Union Church Road, Asheboro with Rev. Charles Moses officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro is serving the Kearns family.
