Helen Louise Benton Dunn, age 85, of Asheboro passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Randolph Hospice House.
Mrs. Dunn was born in Wilson County, NC on June 6, 1932 to Henry and Amanda Johnson Benton. She was formerly employed with Balfour Hosiery and later worked in the dining area at Burger King where she always welcomed customers with her bright smile. Helen was a member of Glad Tidings Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Hughie Dunn, daughter, Jenny Cox, son, Don Cox, grandson, Matthew Young, sisters, Elsie, Henrietta, and Dorothy, and brothers, Donald and Earl. Helen was a Christian lady who was thoughtful of others and always ready to give an encouraging word. She enjoyed watching birds from her window and tending to her flowers. Helen will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth "Ken" Cox and wife Becky of Asheboro; grandchildren, Brian Cox of Sanford, Kevin Cox of Canada, Jeremy Smith and wife Amanda of Staley, Jacob Garner of Asheboro, Tara Greeson and husband Matthew of Climax, and Dana Jarrett and husband Jeff of Randleman; and 18 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Randolph Memorial Park, 4538 US Hwy 220 Bus. North, Asheboro with Rev. Robert Edmonson officiating.
