Hazel Myers Sellers, age 86, of 208 Mountain Top Drive, Asheboro died at her home April 15th. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Alva (Bill) Sellers of the home; son Broughton Sellers and wife Beatrice of Elon; son-in-law Charles Swiers and wife Susan of Asheboro. Grandchildren J.J. Sellers of Talbott, TN; Scott Sellers and wife Erin of Washington, D.C.; Amanda Sellers and husband Alan Turner of Burlington; Jennifer Brewer and husband Kevin of Asheboro; Casandra Newton and husband Galen of Apex; Eleanor (Ellie) Parker and husband Garret of Asheboro; Rebecca Kidd and husband Alex of Asheboro. Niece Suzanne Myers Yanders of Pittsboro and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Flada Kearns Myers; sisters Edna Myers and Virginia High; brother Johnny Myers; daughter, Jane Sellers Swiers; and great-grandson Ben Goebel.
Hazel was an active member of Central United Methodist Church, which she joined in 1941 and served as a financial secretary for 32 years. She taught Sunday school in the kindergarten department, was a member of the Women's Society where she was awarded life membership. She loved to do needle work and favored quilting above all.

The family will accept friends for visitation at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, Saturday, April 17th from 6pm-8pm. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 18th at 2pm in the Chapel at Pugh Funeral Home with Dr. Mark J. Key and Rev. Barry Queen officiating. Interment will follow the service at Oaklawn Cemetery.
