Hazel Irene Robinson King, age 95, of Asheboro passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home.
Mrs. King was born in Colfax, NC on June 28, 1925 to Andrew and Maggie Lena Clark Robinson. Hazel was employed in the dietary department at Cross Road Retirement Community for 7 years. She was an active member of High Pine Wesleyan Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher and a member of the choir. In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Grayson King, son, Michael Stephen King, and daughter-in-law, Jacqueline King, and great grandson, Carter Brundage. Hazel loved traveling in North Carolina and working in her flower garden. She always put her family first and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Curtis James King of Asheboro; grandchildren, Paige King of Asheboro, Allison King of Randleman, Kelly Robbins (Michael) of Asheboro, and Katie King of Asheboro; and great grandchildren, Kalee, Jonas, Shelby, Ean, Eli, Evan, and Payton.
Mrs. King's body will lie in repose on Sunday, January 24, 2021 from 12 noon-4:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 25, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wyatt Hoogkamp officiating. Burial will follow in the High Pine Wesleyan Church Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home for the many years of care provided to Grayson & Hazel King.
