Hazel Bruton Haywood, age 83, of Montgomery County, NC succumbed to Alzheimer's disease Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Autumn Care Nursing & Rehabilitation in Biscoe, NC..

Mrs. Haywood was born September 24, 1934 in Candor, NC, the daughter of Lindsay Bruton and Cora Campbell Bruton Garner. She was a faithful wife, loving mother and grandmother. She was a seamstress and operated Hazel's Fashions and enjoyed farming. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hartsel J. Haywood, and sisters, Nealie Ruth Johnson Swarts and Carolyn Bruton, one grandson and one great Grandson.

She is survived her two daughters, Joan Allred and her husband Larry and Ava Greene and her husband, Johnny of Montgomery County; Grandchildren, Kellie Tedder and her husband Brent, Kerrie Dionne and her husband Jason, Korrie Ervin and her husband Marcus, April Ausband and her husband Zach, and Aaron Greene and his wife Aleesha, and Fourteen Great Grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday, December 4, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy, NC and the other times at the home of her granddaughter at 585 Hicks Rd, Candor, NC. A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 5, 2017 beside her husband Hartsell, at 437 Hicks Rd., Candor, NC 27229 with Marcus Ervin and Zach Ausband officiating.
