Hazel Scott Auman

Hazel Scott Auman, age 96, formerly of 2453 Rockwood Rd., Asheboro died Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Richard Kirby officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Auman was a native of Seagrove and attended Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church most of her life. She retired from Union Carbide of Asheboro and worked at the Salt Box for many years thereafter. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Wilson Auman and son, David Harold Auman. She is survived by her daughters, Doris A. Ragsdale of Asheboro, NC, Ruby A. Owenby of Ramseur, NC, Betsy Mosteller and her husband Carroll of High Point, NC; son, Rick Auman and his wife Joyce of Burlington, NC; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; sisters, Jewell Copple of Seagrove, NC, Pauline Woodell of Seagrove, NC, Canary Kearns of Asheboro, NC; and brother, Lacy Scott of Seagrove, NC. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at the home of her granddaughter, Shelia Hammonds, 2291 Mack Rd., Asheboro, NC. Memorials may be made to the Randolph County Senior Adults Association, 133 W. Wainman Ave., Asheboro, NC 27203.
