Harvey Brown Richardson

Harvey Brown Richardson, age 73, of Seagrove passed away on February 18, 2024 at his home.

Mr. Richardson was born in Asheboro on December 27, 1950 to Henry and Mildred Brown Richardson.  Harvey was a 1969 graduate of Seagrove High School, and following graduation he served in the U.S. Army for 3 years during the Vietnam War.  He was a member of Guiding Light Baptist Church.  Harvey loved God, his family, and his country.  He loved the outdoors, fishing, and hunting.  Harvey was well-known throughout the area as a skilled taxidermist.  Harvey loved gardening and sharing his goods with family and friends.  Harvey loved spending time with his grandbabies.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elaine Richardson; daughters, Renee Rowland and husband Bobby of Seagrove and Krystal Wright and husband Brian of Star; grandchildren, Chelsey Poole and husband Landon, Hagen Auman, and Kaydee Rowland; sister, Lois Callicutt of Troy; and brothers, Ray Richardson of Troy and Maxton Richardson of Asheboro.  

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro and at other times at 141 Dameron Street in Star.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Guiding Light Baptist Church, 3355 Spies Road in Star with Pastor Mark Medlin officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
