Harvey Howard Pierce, Jr. age 80, of Randleman crossed over onto Heaven shores Wednesday, August 26, 2015 to be with his Lord and Savior. Though he will be missed here, he will be greeted by those who have passed before him and most of all, our LORD JESUS CHRIST.
Mr. Pierce was born February 12, 1935 the son of Harvey and Annie Belle Pierce in High Point, NC and married Della Loraine Stilley on December 24, 1954. Harvey accepted Jesus as his Savior in 1966 and has been serving Christ and His church since. He has been a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Fayetteville Baptist Church and is currently a member of Level Cross Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing at Lake Lucas, doing woodworking in his shop, working on cars and helping others where he found the need. He never met a problem or challenge he could not figure out a solution. He worked in the furniture industry most of his life at Reliance Universal, Davis Furniture, Brayton International and Claude Gable. In addition to his parents and wife Harvey is preceded in death by his son Jimmy (Bo) H. Pierce and his brother Everett Pierce.
Harvey and Della had five children together, eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Daughters: Becky Golden (Billy) of the home, Tammy Montgomery-Bracken, Judy Pierce, Nancy Johnson (Michael); grandchildren: Annie Bell Bray (Chad), Stephen Pierce (Maria), Kimberly Dawn Hill of Florida (formerly of Bennett) and daughter of Jimmy Pierce, Kisha Shelton (Josh), Lee Laughlin (Brooke), Chris Bowland, Jason Bowland, and Nathan Pierce; great-grandchildren: Alisha Todd, Alex and Heaven Pierce, Justice and Nicloe Clark, Noah Jennings, Travis Laughlin, Max and Wyatt Bowland.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 28, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC and other times at the home of Becky Golden, 4562 Randleman Lake Rd., Randleman, NC 27317. The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 11:00 am at Level Cross Baptist Church, 10169 US Hwy 220 Bus. North, Randleman with Rev. Jerry Mills officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family would like to thank Pruitt Hospice for the loving care they extended to Dad. They were more than caregivers; they became part of his family. To his special angels "Lindsay, Pam and Danielle" we are grateful to the special care and attention you gave Dad. We also want to thank the special staff of the 700 lane of Randolph Health and Rehab. Thank you for those moments you gave Dad and us.
