Harold Edward Wood

ASHEBORO - Harold Edward Wood, age 73, of Sophia went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 8, 2015, at his residence. Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Beaulah Wood of Randleman. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruth Ann Griffin Wood; sons, Timothy Harold Wood of High Point, and Jay Edward Wood of Randleman; daughters, Chris Wood Vaughn of Champaign, IL. and Karen Ann Wood of the residence. Harold had 7 grandchildren: Angela Wood Knestrick, Joshua Wood, Chastity Wood Elliott, Jessica Vaughn Fawcett, Heather Wood, Erica Mullins Alferez, and Holly Mullins. He was also blessed with 9 great-grandchildren. Harold is survived by sister, Doris Ford and brother, Bobby Wood of Randleman. He was affiliated with Bailey's Grove Baptist Church in Asheboro. He loved his wife and family and lived his life providing for them. Harold was a man that sacrificed what he had for what others needed. His entire life is summed up by the verse of John 15:13 "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." A Memorial Service will be held at Bailey's Grove Baptist Church on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Jonathan Shook officiating.
