Harold Dean Morton

Harold Dean Morton, age 81, of Mt. Gilead, NC, died June 22, 2017, at his home.

Mr. Morton was born October 8, 1935 in Montgomery County, NC. He was the son of the late Lindsey and Esther DeBerry.

He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was Owner of Harold's 220 Service Station in Candor, NC for many years.

He is survived by one son: Richard Morton (Pamela) of Albemarle, NC; Grandson, William Dean Morton of Asheboro, NC; Great Grandson, Garrett Dean Morton; Companion, Ruth Gladys Locklear of Mt. Gilead, NC. He was predeceased by wife, Nancy Lewis Morton.

Mr. Morton was a member of the American Legion in Troy, Woodman of the World, and the Masons. He was the youngest of 9 children. He was a strong willed and honest man, loved by all his family.
