Gregory York Sholar

Gregory York Sholar, age 51, of Asheboro died Monday, July 23, 2012 at Duke University Medical Center, Durham after a brief period of declining health. Mr. Sholar was a native of Randolph County, a graduate of Asheboro High School and graduated Cum Laude from High Point University. He was formerly employed with Goodyear Tire and Rubber and Therapeutic Alternatives Behavioral Health. Mr. Sholar was preceded in death by his father, Edsel W. Sholar and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hal York of Asheboro and Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Sholar of Rocky Mount. He is survived by his son, Guy Sholar of Hampstead, NC; mother, Peggy York Sholar of Asheboro, NC; brother, Marc Sholar and his wife Stacey of Morganton, NC and their children Sarah and Ben Sholar; fianc, Ruth Kiker of Greensboro, NC. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 27, 2012 at 11:00 am at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark Ryman officiating. Memorials may be made to The Humane Society of Randolph County, P.O.
