Grace Morris Robbins

Grace Morris Robbins, age 100, formerly of 215 South Park Street, Asheboro died Monday, August 24, 2009 at Sardis Oaks Nursing Home in Charlotte, NC. A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Lovejoy United Methodist Church Cemetery in Troy, NC with Rev. Mike Davis officiating.Mrs. Robbins was a native of Troy, NC and attended Greensboro Bible School. She was a self- taught pianist and choir member, an avid fisherwoman and was known for her generosity. She was a member of Lovejoy United Methodist Church, was owner and operator of Robbins Rest Home in the 1950's and 60's and was retired from Central Telephone Company. Mrs. Robbins was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Robbins, son, Reece Deaton, parents, Presley M. and Martha Voncannon Morris, step brother, Blaine, and brothers, Walser, Claude, Herman, Luther, Paul and Otis; step sisters, Maude, Neva, and sisters, Pearl, Lois and Leona, and great granddaughter, Arianna Merritt. She is survived by her daughter, Bronna Deaton Merritt of Asheboro; grandson, Henry E. Merritt and his wife Laura of Charlotte; great grandchildren, Ellowyn, JonIssac and Arabella Merritt.The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 26, 2009 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
