Grace Councilman Snyder

Grace Councilman Snyder, age 82, of 2628 Mack Road, Asheboro died Saturday, November 10, 2007 at Clapps Convalescent Nursing Home, Asheboro. The funeral will be Monday, November 12, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Dr. John S. Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Mrs. Snyder was born on August 22, 1925 to James and Josie Little. She was a native of Asheboro and a graduate of High Point College. She a member of First Baptist Church of Asheboro, where she spent many years active in teaching, was a deaconess and served on several church boards. Grace was also active in the local and district VFW, serving in many capacities and was a consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics for over 30 years. She was formerly employed as an officer with the Randolph and Guilford County Probation Parole Departments. Mrs. Snyder was preceded in death by her husband, George Grady Councilman and two brothers, Buck Little and Fred Little. She is survived by a daughter, L. Jane Ward and her husband, Randy of Farmville, NC; son, George Grady Councilman, Jr. of Burlington, NC; one sister, Kate Brower and her husband, James of Asheboro, NC. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 11, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
