Gordon Joseph Milks, Jr.

Gordon Joseph Milks, Jr., age 73, of Seagrove died Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Randolph Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Asbury Baptist Church, 395 Asbury Church Rd., Seagrove with Rev. Wayne Bryson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Guard. Mr. Milks was born in Abingdon, MD on June 28, 1939 to Gordon J. and Rosa Sheffield Milks, who preceded him in death. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Gordon was self-employed as a plumber and cabinet maker and was employed with Seagrove Hardware for 20 years. He was a member of the Seagrove Town Council for 10 years and a member of Asbury Baptist Church. Gordon was a loving husband, father, and brother. He enjoyed life and his church and was very family oriented. He loved his cats and all animals. He is survived by his wife, Becky Garner Milks; son, Gordon J. "Joey" Milks, III of Asheboro; brother, George Vernon Milks and his wife Lois of Asheboro; sister, Mary Milks Brewer of Asheboro; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
