Golda Rae Garner Cox, age 84, of Asheboro died Friday, June 16, 2017 at Universal Health Care of Ramseur.
Golda was born May 10, 1933 in Asheboro to Grady and Esther Garner.
Golda and her husband Jack worked side by side for over 30 years at Experimental Aircraft Association in Oshkosh, WI before returning home to Asheboro in 1999. The two spent countless hours in the air pursuing their passion for aviation throughout their 53 years of marriage. Golda loved reading, spending time with her family and caring for her beloved cats Dora and Mia. She is survived by her sisters, Betsy Johstono and husband Donald of Macon, GA, Becky Cox and husband Tommie of Asheboro; Nieces, Cindy Morris and husband Tom of Asheboro, Sharon Bennett and husband Mike of Tifton, GA, Cathy Stewart and husband Steve of Macon, GA, Melissa Grater and husband Tim of Knoxville, TN; nephews, Tom Cox and wife Cindy of Randleman, Bryan Cox of Asheboro, Don Johstono, Jr. of Macon, GA, Michael Johstono and wife Crystal of Macon, GA; 6 great nephews and 7 great nieces.
The family will receive friends and family on Sunday, June 25, 2017 from 3:00-5:00 pm at Golda’s home.
The family would like to thank Universal Health Care of Ramseur, especially the nurses, the physical therapy staff and Lucy Grady for their care and compassion making a difficult time more bearable.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204-0009.
