Glenn Bright McNeill, Jr., age 66, of Troy passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016 at his home.
Mr. McNeill was born in Cumberland County on July 30, 1949 to Glenn Bright, Sr. and Clara Canady McNeill. He was a member and Deacon at First Baptist Church in Troy. Glenn was a former Troy Police Officer and was formerly employed with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department. He was retired as a Rural Postal Carrier for the Town of Troy after 32 years of service. Glenn was a Mason, a former member of the West Montgomery Lions Club, and a lifelong member of the Dutchmans Creek Hunting Club. Glenn was a loving, husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Sharon Lorch McNeill of the home; daughters, Wendy Cato and husband Tommie of Faith, Misty Hildreth and husband Chris of Asheboro; step children, Lana Wallace of Leland, Mike Smith of Holden Beach, Holly Bass of Oak Island; 5 grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Hill and husband Ronnie of Smyrna, GA and Janet Bunnells and husband Fred of Hope Mills.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 819 Mt. Carmel Church Road, Troy with Rev. Rodney Holmes and Rev. Grady Blakely officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
