Glenn Henry Craven, age 64, of Asheboro passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Randolph Health.
Mr. Craven was born in Asheboro, NC on October 29, 1952 to Seth and Nonevieve Cox Craven. He was retired from GE, Black & Decker, and Randolph Vocational Industries and was currently employed with United Brass of Randleman. Glenn loved his church and was a long time member of Brower's Memorial Wesleyan Church where he was an offering teller, greeter, usher, and peppermint dispenser. In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Craven, and brother, Gary Craven. Glenn cherished his grandchildren. He loved hunting, fishing, riding at the lake, and spending time with others. Glenn was a big collector of Coca-Cola memorabilia and Hot Wheels. He loved the beach and Doss Old Fashion Ice Cream & Grill.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janice Craven; daughter, Sharon Cheek and husband Doug of Asheboro; son Alan Craven and wife Kelly of Asheboro; grandchildren, Tiffany Hulin; Katherine Craven, Sean Craven, and Megan Cheek all of Asheboro; "adopted" grandchildren, Alexis, Sarah, and Jacob; and best friends at work, Steve Hinchman and Mitch McPherson.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 2:00-7:00 p.m. at the home of Alan Craven and also on Sunday, June 4, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 3:00 p.m. at Brower's Memorial Wesleyan Church, 1734 Mack Rd., Asheboro with Pastor Bryant Madren officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park.
