Earl Glenwood "Glen" Parks, age 96, of Asheboro died Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home.
Mr. Parks was born February 8, 1922 in Lynchburg, VA to Earl and Maude Parks.
He was a US Navy veteran of WWII and was formerly employed with Chicago Rawhide as a sales representative. Mr. Parks was an avid golfer and NASCAR fan. In addition to his parents, Mr. Parks was preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin Parks and Roy Parks.
He is survived by sister, Dorothy "Dot" Pierce and husband Pete of Thomasville; sons, Larry Parks and wife Sherry of Homestead, FL, Charles Parks and wife Lillian of Asheboro, Van Parks and wife Sherrie of Asheboro; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 21, 2018 from 3:00-5:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will be presented during the visitation at 4:00 pm.
The Parks family wishes to express their gratitude to Clapp's Convalescent Home and Randolph Hospice for the care they extended to their father and all of the family.
