Gladys J. Settle Milam, age 72, of 1432 Arrow Wood Road, Asheboro died Saturday, June 14, 2008 at her residence.
A native of Washington, DC Gladys had retired after 28 years of service with the United States Department of Agriculture. She was currently employed with the Randolph Partnership for Children. On May 9th she graduated with honors from Randolph Community College with a degree in Early Childhood Development. In addition to being an honors graduate she was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa and named to Who's Who Among Students in America's Junior Colleges. She loved gardening, working with children, and she enjoyed a healthy lifestyle.
She is survived by one daughter: Cynthia Furland of Nashville, TN, one son Christopher Greene of Marshall, NC, grandson, Nicholas Antonides of Kent, OH, one sister: Mary Madden of Brandywine, MD and three brothers: Richard Settle and his wife Sheila of Waldorf, MD, Moffett Settle and his wife Grace of Littleton, CO, and Gilbert Settle and his wife Brenda of Ft. Worth, TX.
A memorial service will be conducted later In Maryland.
