Gladys Naomi Williamson Hill, age 92, of Asheboro passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Cross Road Retirement Community.
Mrs. Hill was born in Randolph County on August 11, 1925 to Wilburn and Jane Lucas Williamson. She was retired from B.B. Walker Shoe Company after 27 years of service. Gladys attended Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her daughters, Christine H. Davis and Margaret Beane, her brothers, Dennis and Jonah Williamson, and sisters, Bertha Lucas, Irene Callicutt, Hattie Beane, and Nora Presnell. Gladys loved her family and was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a hard worker who enjoyed flower gardening.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Frances York and husband Ken of Randleman and Peggy Moore of Asheboro; sons, Ray Hill and wife Cheryl of Asheboro and Jessie Hill and wife Patricia of Greensboro; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Brown of Asheboro and Mary M. Graves of Asheboro; and brothers, James Williamson of Asheboro and Lawrence Voncannon of Asheboro.
The family would like to express a special thank you to her caretakers at Cross Road Retirement Center who gave her such loving care.
The family will receive friends Sunday, November 26, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Heppding officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
