Girlene Houtchings McGill, 75 passed away March 22, 2008 at Randolph Hospital after a lengthy illness. A memorial service is planned for 4 PM, Monday, March 24th at the Pugh Funeral Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. She was born in Red Springs, North Carolina to Lula Pearl Strickland Houtchings and William Noah Houtchings. Surviving are daughter, Rhonda Routh and her husband Steve Routh of Asheboro, Phyllis Phillips and her husband Dwight Phillips of Tannersville, Virginia, sisters, Evelyn Thomas of Wilmington, NC, Shirleen Cockman and Eloise Hunt, both of Asheboro, Grandchildren, Derek Routh of Liberty, NC, Benjamin Routh of Asheboro, Travis Phillips and wife Gayelyn of Asheboro, Mandy Pasour and husband Jeff of Asheboro, two great granddaughters, Emmali Paris Routh and Addisyn Lily Routh.
