Ginger Dawkins, age 69, of Randleman passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Randolph Hospice House.
Mrs. Dawkins was born in Hawthorne, CA on February 25, 1948 to Arthur and Helen Skidmore Wessell. Ginger was active with the Messenger of Hope Ministry through Worthville Baptist Church for 25 years. Ginger was employed with the Randolph County Sheriff Office from 1987-2015 as a Reserve Deputy. She was a Census Numerator for 20 years and a former election poll worker. She was a Hospice and MS volunteer. Ginger was preceded in death by her father Arthur Wessell, mother, Helen Danby, and sister, Donna Winfrey.
She is survived by her husband, Pastor Junior Dawkins, daughters, Lori Williams and husband Alan and Tayna Boyd and husband Michael; sons, Daniel Francom and David McGee; grandchildren, Morgan Williams, Meghan Ivey, Brittany Darby, Justin Boyd, and Candace Boyd; 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Jeannie Farabee and Connie Stout; and brother, James Darby.
The family will receive friends Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Buddy Maness and Rev. Lee Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park.
