Michael Gilliam "Gill" Frye, age 54, of Asheboro died Sunday, August 17, 2014 in Southport, NC.
Gill was a lifelong resident of Asheboro, he graduated from Asheboro High School in 1977, and from NC State University in 1983 with a degree in Landscape Horticulture. While in college he joined the Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity. The owner of Frye Farms Landscaping, Inc. he was an avid scuba diver, Little League Baseball Coach, and referee with the North State Football Officers Association. He was a member of First Baptist Church and an Eagle Scout.
A loving father, husband and friend, he was proceeded in death by his parents Ervin C. Frye, Jr. and Allene P. Frye, brother Mark P. Frye, and grandparents Eva C. Frye and Ervin C. Frye, Sr.
He is survived by his wife: Caroline J. Frye; son, Michael G. Frye, Jr. and wife Morgan; and son Zachary A. Frye.
The family will receive friends Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 12:30 to 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, Christian Life Center 133 North Church Street, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will follow at 2:00 PM in the First Baptist Church Sanctuary, 133 North Church Street, Asheboro with Rev. Mark Hall officiating. Gill's body will lie-in-state in the church sanctuary during the visitation.
Burial will be in Asheboro City Cemetery, Asheboro.
