Geraldine Herron Thompson

Geraldine Herron Thompson, age 73, of Stoney Fork Church Rd., Mt. Gilead died Thursday, February 26, 2015 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst. Geraldine was born September 2, 1941 at Mecklenburg County, the daughter of Thomas Green and Selma Russ Herron. Geraldine lived the majority of her life in the Mt. Gilead area and was a graduate of Mt. Gilead High School. She was a retired employee of Collins & Aikman Corp. She is survived by her long time special friend: Dillon Thompson; two daughters: Cathy Thompson Kearns (Mark) of Apex, NC, Marcia Thompson (David Williamson) of Winston- Salem, NC; grandchildren: Tyler Lefler, Andrew Kearns, Alston Kearns, Alexandria Norris and Austin Norris; one sister: Lula Mae Miller of Matthews, NC. The family will receive friends Friday, February 27, 2015 from 6-8 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy, NC; other times at the home. The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 am at Stoney Fork Baptist Church, 175 Stoney Fork Rd., Mt. Gilead with Rev. Terry Burris and Rev. Butch Pope officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
